The first thing one notices about Mammoth is it is well...uh, mammoth. The little dots are skiers.

Jay and I met up with Dave and his wife Sheila (not shown) for a generous tour of the place.

Here Sheila is introducing us to "The Paranoids." I've heard much about them, and I'll tell you, they're steeper than they look. Cross your tips up top and a "slide-for-life" would have a whole different meaning. (Those specks at the bottom are people).

As soon as Jay and I heard that this run is only skiable every 4 to 5 years, we knew we had to ski "Dos Pasos."
