We could quickly see why Sierra has such a good rep with the locals. Trees, steeps, backcountry, lake views, and endless trails.

This tasty-looking area was closed but we could see tracks in some of the chutes. How to get some of it must be a local's secret.

We skied much of the morning not even knowing there was an entire area called the "West Bowl" that we hadn't even noticed. It had the best snow on the mountain.

Jay and I are checking out the map to make sure we aren't missing any more little surprises such as the West Bowl.
