Verbier is known as one of the biggest ski areas in the world
There are tram systems and redundant gondolas everywhere to help handle the masses
The tiny-looking structure in the middle of the photo is a huge building at the base of La Chaux, which is just a fraction of Verbier's terrain. This small part of Verbier has more acreage than almost any US resort.
The thing that is so striking about Verbier is how much 'untracked' is available even with so many thousands of skiers on the mountain (look behind Scott)
