The roads and historic buildings look like something out of the movies
At the lower elevations we stumbled onto some blue-ice patches
just under the snow surface in the middle of open-bowl skiing.
That was a little unnerving.
The name 'Grands Montets' doesn't sound that serious, but it definitely has some serious terrain.
This side of Mt. Blanc is very underrated with some surprisingly hairy terrain features up top.
Look at the amount of untracked above us!
This was another place that skied much bigger than it originally looked.
What we skied of Les Planards looked to be more of an intermediate/beginner ski area, so we spent most of our time at Grands Montets...
